After graduating in 1965, I continued to work in the old Shop-Rite in West Long Branch.
Six months after that, I was drafted in to the Army.
I trained at Fort Dix in New Jersey. I was then assigned to Fort Lewis in Washington
State. From there, I deployed to South Korea. I worked in intelligence and spent a lot of
cold days on the 38th Parallel.
After serving in Korea for a little over a year, I was assigned to Ft. Knox. I became an
escort for my fellow soldiers who came home to be buried. It was an honor to do this
very grim assignment.
After my discharge, in 1968, I returned home and moved to Matawan, NJ for a while. I
resumed working for Shop-Rite.
I married in 1981 and we had a daughter born in 1983 and moved to South River, NJ.
My wife and I divorced in 1986, but remained friends.
During my time living in South River, I became a volunteer fireman for Ladder Company
81. I also, did some photography. I retired from Shop-Rite in 2012.
I recently moved to Ocean Township, NJ.
