believe this is an opportunity for us to carry out the Kirin

Group mission to contribute to resolving social issues and

are applying our expertise and strengths in the food and

health fields to create “businesses bridging Pharmaceuticals

and Food & Beverages,” which will be a pillar of the Group’s

future growth.

Structure

A pure holding company framework was adopted in 2007 as

a means for strengthening the Kirin Group's management.

In one sense this allows the Chief Executive Officer and

Financial Executive Officer to act as investors in the

distribution of investment funds from the holding company

to subsidiaries within the structure. By doing so they are ROI

as quasi outsider investors judging the quality of the

investment of the basis of future performance and

sustainability.

In 2013, Kirin Co., Ltd., was established for the purpose of

leading the Group's Japan Integrated Beverage business

segment. Realignment moved on to 2019 when thinking

formulated into a three-domain structure covering Food &

Beverages, Bridging Businesses and Pharmaceuticals (See

Diagram) a structure that had changed to reflect the

strategy developing under Yoshinori Isozaki.
