Below is a small exercise to help focus your thoughts on the

banks, their motivations and causes of their actions.

Place each of the banks within the matrix but justify why you

have done so e.g. is the bank responding to external forces
outwith its control, or does it lack good governance

practices and appropriate oversight, or does its strategic

leadership simply not know what is going on in the bank, or

is it corrupt in that it consciously breaks the law?
