b) The improving efficiency of the three main workshops

The activities undertaken in the workshops are:

                         • procurement
                   1

                         • assembly
                   2

                         • Packing
                   3

                         • auxiliary services (repairs)
                   4

                         • appliance manufacture for the disabled
                   5

                         • outwork
                   6

The product range had been reduced significantly. Only those products
which were seen to satisfy market demand were retained. New products
or services such as galvanic plating were actively pursued on the
evidence of an emerging market. The product range at that time
               covered:

                   • furniture accessories (door hinges)
                   • low voltage micro circuit switches
                   • fishing lines and weights
                   • circular knitting needles
