SUMMARY

In summary the case method helps the user develop a

management armoury of:

• case issue identification

• information gathering

• analysis and
• the drawing of conclusions and

• the construction of solutions

Problem solving ability is a desirable attribute in most

educational and work-place situations and is one that allows
the individual to stand out from the crowd. However, the

case method is also based on the user - needing to learn to

live with an element of uncertainty.

The table below highlights some of the advantages and

disadvantages associated with the case method and in

doing so indicates why uncertainty is part of the case
method.
