PowerPoint, Toolbook, Dreamweaver and Flash allowed the
creation of online cases and content to be built for
distribution to students via the World Wide Web. However,
they had a variety of drawbacks, not the least of which was
the steep learning curves associated with them, all of which
had a life cycle of their own. For example, Dreamweaver was
founded on html but progressively made step-advances
through cascading style sheets, java script and html5 with
the result that the interactive case developer needed to
devote greater time to keeping abreast of technical changes.
