USPs





               The UPS (unique selling points) is the unique thing that a

               company can offer that its competitors can’t. It is the

               ‘competitive edge.’ It is the reason why customers buy a

               specific good.



                       ‘If you don’t have a USP, you’re condemned to ma struggle

                       for survival’




               As soon as one company establishes a successful USP in a

               market, competitors will rush to copy it. It makes sense

               therefore to invest to build and defend it.



               In the case of Tyrrells Chips Chase built a package of unique

               offerings such as heritage potatoes, additive free products

               and an ethical base that all played into the psyche of the

               environment of the period.
