Nurofen, Lemsip and Clarityn cost almost five times as

much as supermarket and chemists' own brands – despite

being exactly as effective at treating pain, hayfever and

colds.

Nurofen costs an average £2.01 for 16 tablets but Asda

and Tesco own brands cost as little as 30p – a difference of
567%. Both contain 200mg of ibuprofen and offer the

same pain relief.
