John 6: 1- After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is
                                                   the sea of Tiberias.

John 6: 2- And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his
miracles which he did on them that were diseased.

John 6: 3- And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his
                                                         disciples.

John 6: 4- And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.
John 6: 5- When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company
come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these
                                                         may eat?
John 6: 6- And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he
                                                        would do.

               Lesson Notes:
(John 6:1-3) – In search of isolation, the Messiah and disciples journey across the north-west
head Lake of Galilee after receiving the news about the beheading of John the Baptist. The
likely landing place was in a remote area, Luke identifies as a desert place belonging to the city
of Bethsaida. (Luke 9:10) In Mark 6:32, the author records the people saw them departing and
ran out after them. There were villages along the coastline of Galilee in Gennesaret and
Bethsaida, and perhaps inland from nearby Capernaum that supplied the great gathering of
people. The multitude, larger than five thousand, were in pursuit of the miraculous healing
power of the Messiah making the journey as Matthew indicates, traveling on foot. (Matthew
               14:13)
(John 6:4) – The text provides a time-stamp, referencing the coming Passover, the second
