7/ SUSTAINABILITY, COMMUNICTIO AND

Byers (2018) discussed the concept of
sustainability in a simplified way in which the
human beings affect and are affected by the
earth owing to their individual and group
behaviors. Therefore, human beings need to
alter their contemporary way of living such
that the earth is fit enough and so do the living
beings. In this regard, it is worth noting that
‗green‘ and ‗sustainability‘ have become
buzzwords and are also synonymous to each
other. There are various definitions related
with sustainability, which would provide an
insight into the theoretical underpinning on the
topic. A key definition comes from the
Brundtland Report by United Nations (2007),
which says that the sustainable development
supports the present without harming the
scope for future. According to Mr. Desai who
is a senior advisor on this commissioned
report, it is now imperative to discuss the
environmental and economic policy issues
under the same roof. In addition, the report
discusses the three guiding pillars pertaining to
