maintaining the authentic cultural integrity of

the site. Since at primarily sustainability is

visualized from the financial point of view it is

quite necessary that the sustainable tourism

suggest at striking the right balance between

revenue enhancement and heritage

conservation.

All forms of tourism should focus on

achieving sustainability. This will lead

towards a change in the way tourism business

operates. Sustainable tourism should focus on

achieving sustainability at the mass scale. In

other words, the focus on sustainability has

shifted from small scale to the mass level. In

addition, the focus of sustainable tourism shall

contemplate the sustainability of the total

ecological system and not just the tourist site.

Sustainable tourism aims largely at enriching

the present tourism experience of the visitors

without deteriorating the resources for

potential future usage. Polonsky et al. (2013)
