activities visa-vis the local residents seems
unstoppable. This suggests an inequitable
growth of tourism in the heritage context. To
manage such an erratic growth of heritage
tourism a conscientious effort is required in
using and managing the heritage site and other
assets in its vicinity, which is simply termed as
sustainability.
There is a growing need to for sustainable
tourism, which is due to the rising threats on
the heritage tourism. Caserta and Russo (2002)
raised the warning that too much of
cultural/heritage tourism demand would result
into reduction of heritage value at the site. In
addition, the authors found that the heritage
resources are vulnerable to misuse and hence
there exists a strong need to setup quality
policy for the management of the heritage
property. Sustainability issues have been seen
