                                              PLAYING THE GAME:


                                              LEARNING TO WRITE

                                                   ENGLISH TEXTS





          BACKGROUND

                The purpose of this gamification system is to teach students that writing is a process, a process

                which can be social (i.e.,interactive or collaborative). By turning the act of writing descriptive,
                announcement, recount and narrative into a game, it is the goal of the instructor to illustrate that

                writing can be a fun activity and that writing is not simply a solo, independent effort.

                Gamification is the use of game elements and game design techniques in non-game contexts or in

                this case is for learning English. The game elements that will be included in this module are:

                Objective, Rules, Badge System, and Rewards




          HOW TO PLAY


                 Rules

                1. This gamification system is only for writing:

                    a) descriptive,


                    b) announcement,

                    c) recount and

                    d) narrative assignments.





                2. Only students who take Bahasa Inggris kelas X in semester 2022-2023 that is taught by the

                instructor may participate.




                3. The objectives of the game is for the students to write the four texts and submitted them on the

                due date. Students may seek guidance from your teacher during hours or from your classmates.
