As we all then departed the grounds of Gougane Barra, we returned to home base at Coolcower House. The remaining kinsmen
just sat and relished in the weekend of activities, later discussing additional local travel plans around Ireland, and in my case, the flight
back home.

One cannot really anticipate the impact of such a journey home to our ancestral roots of Ireland. It is a place where one is instantly
connected with their fellow kinsmen. More importantly, one can’t even imagine the spiritual connection to the “soul of one’s being” as
you are exposed to your ancestors in such a deeply touching environment. As one reflects on what a pilgrimage may be, this is one for
the Irish soul to deepen one’s foundation. Is it a religious experience? That’s up to the individual. Is it a Spiritual event? Absolutely, if
one allows the self to grasp the totality of the experience. Is it fun? Are you serious? It’s an Irish clan event, what would you expect?

As we all reflect ones life’s events and even the meaning of life, it’s about enriching one’s soul. Deepening our connections to the
self and who we are is completely enriching. Seldom in life are we presented with an opportunity to “Pilgrimage” home to strengthen
who we are. We’ve all learned life is short, we can’t predict the end, but we can select the journey.
I would love to thank all of those that contribute their heart and souls to keeping this tradition alive. There are many contributors
on both sides of the Atlantic (and elsewhere!) that keep the fires and embers burning that keeps this tradition alive… Thank you all.

The O Mahony Clan will celebrate its 70th clan Gathering 13 – 15 June 2025. This is reported by the Clans of Ireland as the
longest consecutive clan meeting in Ireland’s modern history. This should be another amazing event. One must seek themselves and
what better way that with their fellow kinsmen?
