During a workshop I attended, Dr. Martina, MD,
gave us an example to illustrate the point.
A couple came to see him with their 6-year-old son
who had a terrible reaction when eating broccoli,
which is not a common allergy.
During the conversation, it was discovered that
when the child was around 2 or 3, the neighbors
came to their door holding his puppy in their arms.
They had run over him, and the puppy was dead.
The child was eating broccoli at the
time. His mind linked his grief to
the broccoli, not the loss of the
puppy.
The mind is not always logical. Dr. Martina used a
desensitization protocol, and the child stopped
being allergic to broccoli.
During the 16-year litigation I went through, I often
had to fast for a few days to reset my digestion, as
I was getting allergic reactions to about every food
I was eating.
Ideally, we should eat in a state of calm to digest
well. Circumstances don’t always allow that.
I started to study food and nutrition when I was in
my late teens because of health challenges. I had
