President’s Report Autumn 2022
In these unprecedented times, I hope that all our members are safe and well and have cleaned up
after the floods in Queensland and New South Wales. If there are any club members that do need
help, please contact me on 0408415330. Watching the news of all the affected areas is horrifying,
particularly Gympie and Lismore, areas I know well during my travels for work and that the levels
of water reached heights that where unimaginable. My thoughts and prayers go to the communities
and hope they will be able to rebuild quickly.
I also wish a long-term Life member of our club, Bill Fenny, a speedy recovery after he had a trip
to hospital for a few days in the middle of these floods. I have been told he is back at home and is
recovering well and should back at his train set in no time.
The committee did manage to have a meeting this month to sort out the year’s runs and events, not
an easy task with all the major events being switched around and being a club with a wide
membership base. We have good mix of long and short runs, but don’t forgot we still have the
impromptu system available too.
th
As our AGM is coming up on the 20 of this Month at Geebung. I would like to thank all the
committee members for their work in keeping this club running. A lot goes on behind the scenes so
we can preserve all the Rootes Heritage in our state. If you are interested in helping out the club,
please give me a call!
I would also like to thank YOU! Without members like you we would not have a club at all. I enjoy
always seeing new faces and old with their Humber’s, Hillman’s, Sunbeams, Singer’s, Commer’s
and Karrier’s. 2022 will be an exciting year and hope to see you at the next event!
