Wake up call

There they were, they were like Bonnie and Clyde, Shrek and Fiona, there are a
lot of examples, but the feeling is one and the same: love.
They were a “perfect couple” or that is what everyone used to say. They always
loved each other, but started to wear out. Everyone, even they, thought it was a simple
crisis like every couple has, but this time, it felt different. He was, as always, shy, but
with the ones he loved, he showed them a lot of love.
Julia was always sociable and friendly, but recently, she was different. She didn’t
seem to be her, quieter, looked much more into details, and she started to be shy. Adam,
that’s his name, started noticing this, and he wanted to find out why she was like this,

but it never crossed his mind a betrayal on her part. He trusted her a lot, because she
was the only one he had and the only one who kept him away from his dark feelings and
thoughts. These thoughts which led him to some problems in the past, but with her help,
he could keep them away from his head. Because no one really knows his mind, except
her. She was different from all the others, she was special. He used to think women were
dangerous, he was afraid to give someone his heart, because he used to think that wrong
words could be ideas as tools to destroy his heart, but in her eyes, he found peace and
confidence, something he had never experienced before.
But in the same way his heart and mind knew when to trust, they also knew
when to start to distrust, and this was that moment. And the day came when Adam
decided to find out what was going on.
All his doubt made his madness and dark thoughts return, he started to feel
alone again, he was going back to his ways, and he started to feel heartless. He prepared
a gun, and there he was, in front of the door, thinking about all the moments he lived
with her, trying to be a better man but now he was heartless, he was just a soul divided,
saying “maybe I deserve this” and the other part saying “look what you've done, you
will suffer”.
But his body acted faster than his mind, so he kicked the door down. And there
they were, the love of his life with someone else, someone he’d never seen. His body
came back into action, but this time, his mind wasn’t working anymore, and his feelings
were completely gone.
The shot came out, and suddenly, the scene was completely different, Adam and
Julia, both standing in the room and a dead body on the floor. As surprising as it may
seem Julia’s reaction was to just sit and watch the scene, without making any gesture,
just sit and let the time pass, Adam took care of the body, put it in the trunk of
