GREENHOLICS
STUDENT PROJECTS
The Greenholics project, led by students from the Faculty of Accounting and Informatics, addresses the serious issue of land pollution in the Cato Crest community. The area faces problems with improper waste disposal, leading to road blockages and health risks, especially for children. The project focuses on placing recycling bins throughout the community and educating residents on the benefits of recycling. By involving the youth as leaders in this initiative, the project ensures long-term sustainability.Additionally, it encourages using recycled waste as fertilizer for vegetable gardens, which can help with food security and provide extra income. This project aligns with DUT’s ENVISION2030 by combining community engagement, innovation, and social entrepreneurship to solve real community problems, showing the positive impact DUT students can make.
