SAKHISIZWE CAMPAIGN
The Sakhisizwe Campaign is is dedicated to addressing hunger among DUT students and local community members By providing food parcels to those facing financial difficulties or impacted by disasters the campaign ensures that no one is left behind due to lack of food This initiative is is deeply connected to DUT’s ENVISION2030 which emphasizes creating a a a a supportive inclusive and resilient community Through its efforts Sakhisizwe embodies the university’s commitment to societal well-being showing how how collective action can contribute to building a a a stronger healthier society IMPACT AND SUSTAINABILITY
Sakhisizwe Campaign has already made a a a a a a a a a a a significant impact assisting over 200 DUT students and 105 community members with food parcels This support has been crucial in in alleviating hunger and promoting well-being To ensure the campaign’s long-term success partnerships with organizations like SA Harvest which rescues surplus food have been established Additionally the campaign is is working to build collaborations with retailers such as Boxer and Shoprite securing a a consistent supply of food parcels These efforts guarantee the the sustainability of the the campaign allowing it it to continue making a a positive difference in in the lives of those who need it it most Faculty: Health Sciences
