   COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2022
MR ZAKHE KHUZWAYO: FACULTY OF ACCOUNTING AND INFORMATICS
- INFORMATION AND CORPORATE MANAGEMENT
Mr. Zakhe Khuzwayo, a postgraduate student in the Department of Information and Corporate Management, is deeply engaged in community work at DUT. He has been recognised for his exceptional commitment over the past year, he has created valuable opportunities for the practical application of knowledge, aligning with the ENVISION2030 initiative to develop future-ready graduates.
He leads a range of projects under his umbrella initiative, Men Carve, which aims to promote healthy manhood by fostering a culture of equity and respect.This initiative focuses on eliminating gender-based violence (GBV) and sexual assault, while also encouraging bystander intervention. Through these efforts, Mr. Khuzwayo is dedicated to building safer and more supportive communities.

NGODINI BUNDUZ ADVENTURE PARK
The DUT Ngodini Bunduz Entrepreneurship Advancement Project was established through a collaborative effort between the Department of Applied Management, Ecotourism, Entrepreneurial Studies and Management, and the Faculty of Horticulture and Applied Sciences. In the past year, the social partners have been recognised for their exceptional support in community engagement by creating practical spaces for knowledge application, aligning with the ENVISION2030 to develop future-ready graduates.
Inspired by the need to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world impact, the project positions DUT as a leader in experiential learning and community engagement. It has provided vital entrepreneurship training and capacity-building workshops, equipping local entrepreneurs with the skills and knowledge necessary to grow their businesses and thrive in their communities.
