Research output per instructional and research staff member also saw a significant increase of 38%. The actual performance of 1.56 publications per staff member surpassed the target of 1.13.
To further enhance research productivity, DUT will pursue several initiatives. These include fostering collaboration with industry partners, establishing a competitive internal seed funding programme for promising new research projects, and implementing
a system to recognise and reward faculty members who consistently contribute to high publication outputs. Additionally, we will focus on improving departmental efficiency by sharing
best practices among high-performing units and providing targeted support to instructional and research staff based on their specific roles.

Moving forward, we must engage in a thorough analysis to diagnose the causes of the discrepancy between the target and actual performance in graduate PG enrolment. This analysis should encompass factors such as programme attractiveness, student recruitment and retention strategies, programme offerings and relevance, as well as support mechanisms for graduate students.
By pinpointing the specific areas of weakness, we will develop targeted interventions to address these challenges and improve graduate PG enrolment outcomes.
Addressing the identified challenges and implementing strategic interventions is essential to mitigate future shortfalls and enhance graduate PG enrolment. By adopting a proactive approach, DUT can anticipate and respond to evolving trends and demands in graduate education, ensuring the sustainability and growth of our graduate programmes over the long term.
