While this is a positive development, a deeper analysis is planned to identify areas for further growth. We will explore factors that influence staff pursuit of doctoral degrees, such as departmental support, funding opportunities, and potential career advancement pathways.

While the lower staff-to-student ratio indicates a potentially manageable workload for the faculty, a deeper analysis is warranted to ensure quality education and adequate support for students. We will explore factors such as class sizes, faculty workload distribution across teaching, research and administrative duties, and student satisfaction with access to faculty. unsustainably low staff-to-student ratio could compromise teaching, research quality, and student support in the long term.

The university is pleased to report strong research productivity in 2023. The publication unit target per FTE was exceeded by 38%, with an actual achievement of 0.77, compared to the target of 0.56. While this is an encouraging achievement, areas for further improvement across different departments will be identified via
a deeper analysis. This data-driven approach will guide the development of targeted support programmes addressing specific departmental needs.
To further enhance research output,
DUT will pursue several initiatives. These include fostering collaboration with industry partners; increasing research centres and institutes; establishing
a competitive internal seed funding programme for promising new research projects; fostering collaborative networks; investing in talent development; aligning research agendas with emerging
trends and streamlining administrative processes; and implementing a system to recognise and reward faculty members who consistently contribute to high publication outputs.
