   Engage the Postgraduate Office in training around ethics and ethical clearance to improve the standard and quality of master’s and doctoral dissertations
 Provide systematic support to enhance postgraduate throughput and success rate
  Number of training workshops for postgraduate students on research ethics, proposal writing and related subjects
   Conducted 2 training workshops
  Two writing retreats were held on 4 August 2020 and 19 October 2020
One training workshop was held on 5 November 2020
In addition, UNIZULU completed its Doctoral Reviews in October 2020
   Staff retention strategies to be developed (women with PhDs)
Implemented academic promotions
 Number of faculties where staff were promoted as per the promotions policy
  4 faculties
 All academic promotions approved in line with the promotions policy, including:
• 15 lecturers to senior lecturers • 3 senior lecturers to associate
professors
• 4 associate professors to
professors
Of the 22 promotions, 12 were females
 Promote, advocate and raise awareness of the value of innovation
    Number of Research and Teaching Awards ceremonies conducted
  1 Research and Teaching Awards ceremony
   The 2020 Research Awards were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic

   General support continued technological and collaborative specific institutional support for students and staff

  The University implemented multimodal teaching and learning to meet the challenges posed by COVID-19
Students returned to campuses in a staggered way and were able to perform well despite the challenges brought by COVID-19
Also, UNIZULU ensured optimal use of University platform to showcase success stories through:
1. Intranet and official website
2. E-news and e-notices
3. Ongoye Online Newsletter
4. Record of press releases sent
out to the media and articles published internally
