KWAZULU-NATAL FILM COMMISSION
Production Internship Programme
To ensure that interns gain valuable industry skills KZNFilm places and supported students on internship programmes in the local production houses. Such as Uzalo, 1KZNTV, Umkhokha, HD N3twork, Umjolo, Spear, A Love like Bollywood and Sibongile and the Dlaminis. The production placements took place during the 2023/24 financial year for period between 2 weeks and up to 12 months depending on the needs of the production.
Production Skills Programme
A production skills programme was held in Nongoma under Zululand District Municipality. Thirty (30) learners participated in the programmes. The programme took place in April 2023.
NQF 5 Film and TV Learnership Programme (Mbazwana)
The purpose of this project was to equip youth, especially from previously disadvantaged backgrounds with the relevant professional filmmaking skills, knowledge, and expertise by providing them with a MICT SETA accredited NQF Level 5 Film and TV Production qualification learnership programme for KZN filmmakers. The graduation for the programme will take place in the 2024/25 financial year.
Digital Entrepreneurship Programme:
The Digital Entrepreneurship programme took place from March 2023 until December 2023. The Entrepreneurs went through an extensive programme to grow their content creation skills. The Digital Entrepreneurs had their graduation on 12 December 2023. They were handed their certificates and starter kits for vlogging. These consisted of a cell phone, a microphone, light and ring light.
