My goal is to create a mixed
media sculpture showing
how women have been
“shaped” and constricted by
our culture and the fashion
industry. Some things I have
considered are corsets,
bras, girdles, stiletto heels

and foot binding. I want
to include sculpture and
encaustic, which is new for
me. Thus far I have worked
on a corset, which is nearing
completion.
