Gerry Burnett
I’m just a wandering minstrel in
the key of life.
I enjoy any kind of aural or visual
stimulus that helps me live in a
zen-like state.
I’ve had the good fortune to work
on a variety of diverse projects,
either on my own, or with others.
I’m always looking for new ideas,
new thinking, and dif erent processes to push my creativity.
When a koan knocks on your door, answer it.
Gerry worked as a studio musician, developed sound libraries
and interactive software for children, was a guest artist at the
CSU Summer Arts program teaching live electronic percussion
in multi-media performance, and taught several interactive
multimedia workshops. He also taught video compositing, 3D
modeling, and movie making at a liberal arts college.
Gerry composed music and designed sound ef ects for
Housecats, a 4-minute animation by cartoonist Peg McClure.
The film won 28 awards from 9 countries, including a Student
Academy Award; Best Sound Recording, Eighth International
Youth Festival, Cork, Ireland; Cine Eagle, Award of Excellence,
and FOCUS, Best Animation.
In 2019, he had four interactive digital installations featured in
Tech-Tacular Superstions, a San Luis Obispo Museum of Art
digital art happening.
