and this year was no different. The points after throw outs say it best. First and
Second tied with 33 points, and further down the line, Fourth place had 51 points
and Seventh had 54! It was a nail biter for several boats all the way to the end.
The first place tie was broken by 1576 Lickety Split owned by Jim Knape, with 29
eh? owned by Zeb Seaborg coming in Second, and then 577 Aldebaran owned
by Mike Sauer in Third.

The top of the fleet had many of the usual suspects, but I want to draw attention
to two boats that have really been improving. First, 577 Aldebaran has been
racing for many years now and has slowly climbed the ranks to become a
notable competitor at the top of the score sheet. Mike Sauer and crew have had
several great seasons in a row, and are knocking on the door for a championship
win. Another boat that really moved up was 1072 Neeko owned by Doug Tosa.
Doug is no stranger to Ensigns, but this is his second year with his own boat and
the team really came together. They finished 5th this year, losing a tie breaker
for 4th. You can see that the team is really starting to gel, and they too, will be a
force next season.

Fleet 35 looks forward to seeing all of our Ensign friends on the water this
summer!
