Fleet 34 had a very successful 2022 sailing season.

Twelve races were completed between June 5 and September 24 . Fourteen
th
boats participated throughout the year, with 4 to 5 boats on average taking part
each week.

Four Fleet 34 members competed in the Region II/III championship and five
competed in the Ensign Class Association National Championship.

The Fleet 34 season championship was very competitive, but once again—and I
hate to have to say this—Robin Durrschmidt and crew sailing Magic were
relentless and took the championship for the fourth year in a row. Team

Durrschmidt competed in nine of the twelve races and placed 1 six times and
nd
2 three times. Not much room for improvement. Mike Macina skippering
Firebird took second place and Russ Carr skippering Swoose took third place.

At the conclusion of the 2022 season, Fleet 34 members gathered for a potluck
dinner, telling sea stories, and celebrating Team Durrschmidt’s successful
season.
