standard. The rest are stripped down to few controls (downhaul, outhaul, and
traveler), no genoas, and no spinnakers. There are no engines, heads, or hiking
straps. And the boat someone races one race is likely not the same boat they will
race in the next, as they are chosen day-of by drawing. But there are always
smiles, and when one of our sailors gets into a “proper” Ensign: watch out!
There is racing, classes, open sailing, and school field trips, as well as Friday
Boat Rides for people with disabilities at MCSC. The Ensign is really the best
boat for all of the sailing we do for a small organization on a very big lake. We
are looking forward to the 2023 season with plenty of Ensign fun.
Mid-Season Championship
For the first time, PHRF boats and Ensigns raced together, so there is a lone
Soling at the top of the chart. The rest are Ensigns!
