Ensign Fleet held its 43rd Annual Meeting & Potluck Dinner Party on Saturday,
March 11th at the clubhouse. It was attended by about 23 fleet members, all of
whom contributed appetizers, main dishes, salads and desserts. Everything was
perfect and it was so great to see everyone getting the season started. The
famous Ensign "Pour Your Own" Bar was well stocked with plenty of top shelf
Irish beer, whiskey and scotch. And Fran Schept did a stellar job in organizing
everyone's contribution to the evening's repast. Thanks go out to everyone for
        their dinner contribution.

During the fleet meeting, Sarah McGillick handled recording, Frank Neeson ran
the election of officers for the upcoming season, Fleet Treasurer Charles
McGillick provided fleet financial details and Former Fleet Captain Jonathan
Simpson, presented the Zak Zakarian Award for Fleet Service to Miriam Sorkin
for her incredible team and their efforts in food & hospitality during last season's
Ensign Nationals. Truly a worthy recipient, Miriam joined us via phone from
        sunny Florida.

Following up on the meeting agenda, we also took care of our Race Patrol
obligations. Finally, as current Fleet Captain, I gave a report on the Adult Sailing
program and laid out our plans for Opening Day. I thank all our fleet members for
the warm reception given to our Opening Day plans, especially all those who
have signed on to handle the myriad tasks in pulling off the event.

And then there was the party. By this time, the bar had been open for a few
        hours.
