Frozen Snowflake
Cookies
You can have snow at any time of year with these
sparkling sugar cookies!
makes about 50 snowflake cookies
1 cup (140 grams) 1 cup (200 grams) icing (optional)
all-purpose flour granulated sugar
2 cups (240 grams)
1 cup (140 grams) 1 egg confectioners’ sugar
whole-wheat flour (icing sugar)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking extract (vanilla essence) 3 to 4 tablespoons
powder (45 to 60 millilitres)
Pearl or sanding whole milk
¼ teaspoon salt sugar for decorating
(optional)
10 tablespoons
(140 grams) butter, at
room temperature
1 Sift the all-purpose flour, whole-wheat flour, baking powder, and salt onto
a piece of parchment paper.
2 Using a hand mixer or a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat
the butter and granulated sugar on medium speed until light and creamy,
about 5 minutes. Add the egg and vanilla and mix until thoroughly combined.
