over the pie plate, and ease it into the plate. Trim the edges of the
dough to leave a 1-inch overhang. Fold the edges under, and then
decoratively crimp the perimeter. Return the pie shell to the
refrigerator to chill until the filling is ready.
In a medium-size bowl, pour the warm melted butter over the
chocolate chips. Stir occasionally until the chocolate is melted and
the butter and chocolate are well combined. Add each of the
remaining ingredients to the chocolate-butter mixture, stirring well
after each addition.
Remove the pie shell from the refrigerator, and pour the filling into
the shell. Shake the pie plate gently to spread the filling evenly. Bake
the pie for 35 to 40 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and the
filling is set. Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for at least
1 hour before serving.
