Osteosynthesis at the proximal phalanx was performed using an intramedullary screw
combined with cerclage wiring, while the distal portion was secured with double cerclage
wires. An external fixator allowing controlled mobilization was applied to facilitate
rehabilitation of the joint and prevent early stiffness.
