WHY?
1
To illustrate how exploration and physical challenges can bridge cultural, social, religious and political differences, bringing people together to reach a common goal.
2
Providing an opportunity to further the interest and understanding of the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative through the endeavours of global exploration.
3
Harnessing social media, press, television and the education arm of the expedition website to amplify the expedition’s message of inspiration and self-empowerment of realizing ambitions through hard work and cohesive teamwork.
4
To carry out physiological research on the impact of extreme physical exertion and mental stress over a prolonged period of time in a desert environment of dramatic temperature contrasts. These measurements will be processed and published as a paper to provide a deeper insight into human endurance capabilities.
5
To log all observations on any wildlife or fauna sighting (e.g. Wild Bactrian Camels), take meteorological measurements and record any archaeological findings.
