WHAT ASPECT OF SAMPLE TO TAKE NOTE OF:

When measuring a sample, it is crucial that you take note of all the outside dimensions such as Length, width and thickness
or if the sample is round, Outside Diameter, Inside Diameter and thickness.

Make sure to see if holes are drilled or drilled and threaded, and bevels / grinding are very important too.

Always look for wear on the blade, and if worn request the original size.

If you cannot determine if the blade is hardened or what material it is, make sure to note the application and what the
blade is cutting, this will help us determine what material to use.

     MEASURING TOOLS AND USE:

All TSC’s should have a Vernier and tape measure with them at all times.

These two tools are all you need for taking accurate measurements.

Its important to have an accurate Vernier, always make sure you reset the Vernier to ZERO before taking a measurement.
We are able to send them out for service / repair and calibration from the Durban branch.

Tape measures are not 100% accurate, but acceptable when measuring longer items.
