DOUBLE BEVEL ANVIL OR “T” ANVILS.
This type of bottom anvil is being used on a few of the slitter rewinders in the package and
label industry. The advantage of this type bottom cutters is that you have two sides that are
used as cutting edge instead of one side. The bottom cutter will be slightly wider to allow
for the second bevel and the locking mechanism. The cost will be a fraction higher than a
single bevel but will get twice the life span of bottom cutter. This is also popular where the
register marks are in the centre of the web and you need to remove a narrow trim.
MULTI BEVEL ANVIL.
This type of bottom anvil is where many different cut widths are required and where set up
times are an issue.
GOEBEL ANVIL & GOEBELETTE.
This is a very clever German system. The boss is made from mild steel and has a grub lock
system. However the clever trick is the Goebelette ring. This can be flipped over and both
sides used without having to send your anvils out for sharpening. Engineering now
manufacture these units and we sell the Goeblette rings (36GX080/068/050). Not ideal for
material that is sensitive to marking because of the ring and the boss.
