The Maroons I believe should be more acknowledge by our Government. There settlements can be use as tourist attraction
areas. The members of these communities would be provided with jobs allowing their tribe to be better able to provide for
their families. This initiative will also boost economy growth for Jamaica. Likewise, the history of the Maroons would be
better preserved and shared by settlers. The Maroons will also be more recognize if their territories are better develop. A
museum should be erected in all Maroon settlements, this would help showcase the Maroon’s history. Society would give
more respect and attention if government used different mediums to highlight Maroons culture.
The Maroons I believe should be involve in some Government decisions making. The laws that govern the security force I
believe could be supported with decisions making from the maroons representatives. The Maroon communities are sheltered
from crime and violence, based on the rules and principles set-up by their leaders for them to follow. Undoubtedly, I believe
if we practice some of these measures, our country will have less crime and violence. As a result the Maroons would be more
acknowledge and the preservation of part of their culture would be among the majority rights.
