T th
he Bethel YPD provided leadership for the annual Youth Day on June 9 . Bethel recognized its
high school and college graduates. Junior and senior high school students conducted the services
and ushered. The Caleb Generation Choir provided music for the occasion and each graduate received
a gift from the congregation. The Reverend Dr. Eric Little, Associate Minister, provided an inspiring
and timely message, based on Philippians 4: 6-7 titled “Don’t Worry About a Thing.” The following
high school graduates were recognized: Darius Colson, Tyler Fryson, Micah Grant, Kha’Myah Town-
send, and Auryn West.
The Church School annual Mother’s Day program was held on the second Sunday in May and Father’s
Day program on the third Sunday in June. The Church School expressed its love by presenting a book to
each woman present on Mother’s Day, titled, Women of Faith; and on Father’s Day, each man received a
journal.
The Church School provided movie gift cards to stu-
dents who attended at least twice a month during the
grading period, who made the honor roll (or dean’s list)
or demonstrated one letter grade improvement from one
grading period to the next. Since the inception of this pro-
gram, over 150 gift cards have been awarded to partici-
pants. Thanks to the Church School for providing this
wonderful way to recognize the academic achievements of
our students; and special thanks to Brother Zachary
Ansley for his superb coordination of this program.
The Elkins-Williams Missionary Society held its annual
Old Fashion Dinner. A delicious meal and warm fellow-
ship were enjoyed by all.
The N. Z. Graham Board celebrated the 74th anniversary
of its founding. The board is named in honor of the Rev-
erend Noah Z. Graham who served as the pastor of Bethel
from 1936-1948. To recognize the occasion, a financial con-
tribution was given to the Miracle Hill Nursing Home to
purchase personal hygiene items for its residents.
The Sam Sampson Board celebrated Founders Day and Youth Sunday
the birthday of the Reverend Sam Sampson. Reverend Reverend Dr. Eric Little and Azia McCray
Sampson served as an associate pastor at Bethel during the
tenure of the Reverend Ira C. Hinson.
Forty members of the Senior Adult Ministry attended an AARP Prepare to Care Caregiving Workshop
held at Bethel. Also, members fellowshipped together at a Christmas lunch and by attending a showing
of the movie, “If Beale Street Could Talk.”
