To review the days of a week, the seasons and the months of the year (from Y1)
To reinforce the use of question marks and speech marks
Way to Work (Means)
1. Review previous lessons.
2. Show the children a calendar and recite the months of the year. Talk about the school year
ending in July and yet calendars ending in December.
3. By question and answer, ensure that the children also know the days of the week and the
seasons of the year.
4. Remind the children that speech marks follow full stops, exclamation marks and question
marks. Give lots of examples.
5. Go through the worksheet with the children then let them try to complete it.
Learning for life (Fulfilment)
1. The children should know the seasons, days and months.
2. They should know that speech marks follow other punctuation signs.
