Exodus 31:3-4 ‘I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge
of all kinds of crafts – to ………., to work in wood and to engage in all kinds
of craftsmanship.’

 God has given people skill to work with wood.

 To visit a saw-mill or to invite a carpenter to help pupils create a wooden item.

 To write a report of the visit to a saw-mill or write an account of how the wooden item was
made.

Way to Work

1. Review the properties of wood.

2. Visit to saw mill or make a wooden object.

3. Write a report on the visit to a saw mill or write an account of how a wooden item was
made.

4. Depending on the choice of activity, seek to continually draw the pupils’ attention to the
amazing properties of wood and God’s provision of such a valuable natural resource.

Learning for Life (Fulfilment)

1. The children will have come to appreciate more of the properties of wood and its
versatility.

2. They will hopefully be increasingly awed at God’s provision for us through the natural

resources he created.
