chick would need before it would hatch, to be inside the egg!
(b) Chick begins to chip at the shell with its egg tooth. It chips at the
broad end first.
(c) It chips all the way around the egg. It takes time and is hard work for
the chick.
(d) Chick hatches. Feathers are wet.
(e) Feathers dry. Chick is fluffy and able to stand. The end of the chick's
life in the egg, but the beginning of its life outside the egg.
5. Do you think all eggs look the same?
Look at a poster of birds, nest sites and egg colour. Note camouflage is important for
some birds eggs, and not for others.
Note the difference in size between ostrich and chiff chaff's egg.
Note the shape of a guillemots egg. Demonstrate using a wooden cone how it cannot
roll off the cliff ledge.
6. How wonderful are God's works ... in wisdom He has made them all.

Learning for Life (Fulfilment)
The children will understand that all living things are created by God to increase in number
and that they have a life-cycle. They should know how an egg hatches and the different parts of an
egg.
