Science Y3/Y4 – Electricity – overview

                                                    ELECTRICITY

        Genesis 1:3           ‘God said, “Let there be light!” and there was light.


        Psalm 119:105         ‘Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.’


          1.   To establish that God created light, power and heat.


          2.   To understand what is meant by electricity and to appreciate where it comes from.


          3.   To learn about static and current electricity.



          4.   To appreciate the importance of electricity in our daily lives.


          5.   To know that electricity gives heat, light and power.


          6.   To learn more about thunder and lightning.


          7.   To demonstrate that a complete, continuous circuit is necessary for current electricity to flow.


          8.   To explore the parts of a torch.


          9.   To learn safety procedures necessary in the use of electricity.


          10.  To demonstrate which materials are conductors and which are insulators.
