Through the Masters and Doctoral Support Programme (MDRS), Unisa invested R329 000 so that six staff members could complete their first research master’s degree, and R2.5 million in assisting 33 to complete their doctorates.

  DRS organised the annual Unisa Research and Innovation Awards ceremony, which was held on 7 June 2024. Awards were presented to 111 Unisa researchers and innovators, while 340 guests attended in person and 1,700 online.

DRS held a successful inaugural Catalytic Niche Area (CNA) Symposium from 14-
15 August 2024 at the Muckleneuk Campus.
The Symposium provided a platform for face-to-face interactions between academics and industry specialists to help identify industry gaps for much-needed research. The event attracted 1,584 delegates either in person or online.
