• Leads by example: Ambassadors should lead by example, inspiring others to become actively involved in supporting UNISA and contributing to its success.
Convenor term of office
• The elected convenor will serve for a period of three years.
• The convenor is eligible for re-election for two consecutive terms of office.
• Despite the provisions mentioned above, the convenor may be removed from the
office, as determined under the Code of Ethics and Conduct. (Annexure)
Termination of service
The Alumni Relations Division, on advice from the alumni chapter (but not exclusively), has the authority to terminate the services of the convenor in the following instances:
• Pass a vote of no confidence in the Convenor of the specific chapter. (procedure for the vote of no confidence – 50% +1 to formally have person removed) (code of conduct) – breach of provision of the Constitution. – audi alteram partem – hear other side.
• Failure to execute his/her responsibilities as required by the Alumni Relations Office.
• Bringing the name of the University into disrepute.
• Resignation.
• Relocation to a location other than a region in which the chapter is located.
