Inovation, Technology Transfer and Commercialisation
The Directorate of Innovation, Technology Transfer, and Commercialisation (DITTC), within the Portfolio of Research, Postgraduate Studies, Innovation, and Commercialisation, plays a crucial role in providing this essential support, empowering innovators to navigate the complexities of innovation and commercialisation.
A total of 1,534 staff and students participated in the DITTC’s engagement activities under the InnovationSense programme:
  669 attended commercialisation topics
26 individual researchers attended one-on-one meetings
47 participated in World IP Day
210 participants across nine colleges attended college visits
93 attended seven “from the lab to the market (ApTech)” events
512 attended the third Unisa Innovation Festival
                                          The Innovation Festival was held from 25-29 November 2024 at the Muckleneuk and Science Campuses. Unisa’s growing reputation as a center of innovation excellence saw the Festival partner with the City of Tshwane and also attract support from local and national thought leaders in the innovation landscape.
