JROTC Distinguished Unit Award
Plum High School’s JROTC program has excelled again. Our 110 cadets received the 2019 Distinguished Unit Award!
The Distinguished Unit Award is a JROTC headquarters initiative and it recognizes those units that have met a minimum number of community service hours during one academic school year. This year the requirement was set at 1,400 hours. However, the Plum Borough School District JROTC surpassed the target and contributed almost 1,800 community ser- vice hours. That’s over fifteen hours per cadet.
The unit’s community service projects ranged from working in the Plum Food Pantry and supporting PHS athletic events to participating in Adopt-A-Highway on Route 286 for the tenth consecutive year. Cadets also volunteered at elementary school events, reponded
