MISSION MOMENT
MADISON’S STRUGGLE
As a new mom, “Madison” was caring for her newborn while
struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Generalized
Anxiety Disorder and taking Suboxone to manage her addiction. It
was too much to handle on her own.
Her Primary Care Physician suggested Samaritas Substance Use
Disorder (SUD) Outpatient Services as a solution. Upon enrollment,
she was diagnosed with Severe Opiate Use Disorder and together
created a plan, as Madison said, “To get my anxiety under control
so that I stay clean.”
As time progressed, Madison was able to implement healthy
coping skills to manage her anxiety and PTSD by utilizing
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy
(DBT) skills. Madison shared, "I could not do this without you guys!"
