MISSION MOMENT
WAITING FOR A MIRACLE
Rolly Bungala fled the Democratic Republic of Congo to escape
violence. In his effort to seek asylum in the United States, he spent
seven years in a refugee camp. During that time, he met his wife
and had two sons. Eventually, he was granted asylum, but as a
single person - having to leave his family at the camp.
“I feel empty in my heart, and I cry sometimes, even at work. I miss
my family so much! I’m simply not complete and happy with my
life. My heart is empty until they arrive, but I am hopeful,” said
Rolly.
Thanks to the generous support of our community, Samaritas
Immigration staff have been helping Rolly and his family. While
his Affidavit of Relationship petition is still in process, the
Samaritas team has helped them complete DNA testing to aid
the reunification process - offering hope that this will generate a
speedy reunion.
