events that differentiate one day from another might makes it feel as the time is
going slowly.
We can see that people are behaving more seriously at this pandemic. From
these differences, we can think that the pandemic is going more severe, and people
are also persisting with it.
2. Experimental methods
Method: Qualitative
For qualitative methods, case studies of different behavioral patterns from various
countries were done. Cases based on China, America, Korea, and Singapore were
studied so that we can spot distinct herd mentalities that occurred in those
countries. We have chosen these four countries because China was the origin of
COVID-19, America and Singapore had a rapid increase of confirmed cases of
COVID-19, and Korea had a countless number of herd mentality cases.
The case study will be about widespread actions (e.g., stockpiling) during the
COVID-19 crisis. We will use the materials: news articles, statistical data on herd
mentality due to COVID-19. Specifically, we would be studying widespread actions,
like stockpiling, herd behavior, and immigration due to COVID-19. We would be
inferring valid news articles and statistical data on China, America, Korea, and
Singapore to see how people from different countries are coping with COVID-19.
Method: Quantitative
Survey questionnaires on social/media influence and adopted coping measures
were used for our quantitative methods. Some questions that were included in our
survey were:
E.g., I am anxious about the COVID-19 crisis, Rate on a scale from 1 (not anxious
at all) to 10 (extremely anxious).
