been so much fun, we can’t wait until they

This year’s international week, the Children

of K2 had immense fun of learning about the
Islands of Hawaii. As we learn about the

geography, history, culture and urban
legends, we can’t seem to get enough of
Hawaii. From learning about King
Kamehameha and to the overthrow of the

royal family of Hawaii to the United States.
We learned that even though Hawaii had a
rough start it is always beautiful and filled

with the Aloha spirit. We discovered that the
traditional Hula dance is a form of
storytelling. The children participated in a few

dances such as “Hukilau”, which tells a story
about going fishing, “Pearly Shells”, a story
about finding beautiful seashells at that the
beach, “Pate Pate”, translated to “long
drums” is a happy dance of dancing

together, lastly we dance and sang the
famous Hawaiian song written by Queen
Liliuokalani entitled “Aloha Oe.” However, our
Hawaiian fun did not stop there. We created
